What does The Edge treat?

The Edge specialises in working with youth, and treats issues involving mental health, behavioural disorders and substance abuse. Our substance abuse treatment programme treats alcohol and drug abuse, while our treatment for behavioural disorders includes gambling and pornography addictions, compulsive internet use and excessive gaming, ADHD/ADD, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. How does The Edge treat substance abuse and behavioural disorders?

Our approach to treatment includes a contemporary, physical and holistic programme, which we are globally recognised for in the behavioural health profession community. We combine intensive physical activity with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in a highly tailored approach designed for young people and modified to each individual’s specific needs. We also use the renowned 12-Step method, which our clinical team has adapted to be culturally sensitive and suitable for modern-day addictions. We offer an evidence-based therapy called EMDR for clients who are also experiencing PTSD or trauma symptoms.

What are the benefits of coming to an inpatient treatment centre?

Inpatient programmes give you the opportunity to work through your addiction for a significant time period without the interruptions and distractions of daily life. By engaging in an inpatient programme, you can explore the root cause of your issues, evaluate living patterns and relationships, and reprioritise and restructure your routines and vision, so that you are able to start living in a healthy and fulfilling way. During treatment, participants will pursue complete honesty with themselves in an environment that is supportive and healing. They are able to benefit from structure and supervision, therapy options, a balanced diet and hands-on tools for recovery. They are able to completely focus on themselves—with no access to drugs or alcohol, and no outside stressors. The Edge utilises a unique and personalised inpatient programme with a variety of therapeutic approaches in a setting that gives each client the necessary tools to succeed in their long-term recovery. Inpatient treatment can give you a new chance at life and help you realise that your behavioural and emotional struggles do not make you a bad person. The tools and support that you will receive throughout the duration of the programme—including aftercare—will help you re-start your life, on your terms.

What does the treatment programme include?

Our treatment programmes include sport training, weekly excursions, private accommodation, all meals, individual counselling, group therapy sessions, massage therapy and aftercare—plus our special 3-day Family Programme.

Does The Edge have telephones and/or internet available?

Does The Edge offer detox?

We offer accompanying alcohol and drug detox if it is required. We have medical staff available 24/7 that can perform mild detoxes. We prefer and recommend that clients who are severely dependent on substances such as alcohol or opioids visit a hospital for detox before coming to The Cabin, our medical team can then take over monitoring you and treat any remaining withdrawal symptoms effectively. We are affiliated with the best hospitals in Chiang Mai, in case you want to do the detox through them or if any complications occur.

How does payment work?

A 35 percent non-refundable deposit is required for all reservations in order to secure your place. Full payment must be made prior to arrival.

We offer an industry-unique pro-rata refund on request should a client choose to exit the programme within 7 days of arrival, with only the 35 percent deposit being non-refundable.
