What to Expect from Addiction Treatment
As pioneers of the use of intensive sport training in addiction treatment, we understand that physical activity, stimulation and adventure are key components of successful recovery for young adults. Our well-rounded programming includes integrative psychotherapy and a heavy focus on physical activity for optimal results.
One-on-one therapy sessions are regularly held with a dedicated counsellor who provides professional, effective care and remains with the client from the beginning to the end of treatment. Each counsellor provides a highly personalised approach tailored to the individual’s specific addiction treatment needs.
Clients attend counselling 2 hours per week.
Not only your counsellors, but also your peer group, have a profound effect on your recovery. In a residential setting like rehab, your peer group enables you to see more of your issues than you would otherwise, and the dynamic of working through your issues with the support of others who are in the same boat is proven to be more effective than battling it alone.
Groups take place for 7 hours throughout the week.
Muay Thai Boxing and Triathlon Training
The Edge’s intensive Muay Thai Boxing and Triathlon training programmes were designed specifically for young men struggling with addictive behaviour by our professional fitness team. Our unique sequencing allows trainees to begin with an assessment and level up through a series of rankings by demonstrating their learned skills and techniques.
Tier 1 consists of basic fundamentals for new trainees and the first level of evaluation for fitness training.
Tier 2 challenges trainees to raise the bar from the basic level of training by adding more detail to the testing portion in a moderate progression to gain more confidence, strength, mentality, and wellness. Trainees can choose to focus on either the Muay Thai Boxing or Triathlon track.
Training becomes increasingly physically and mentally demanding; trainees can surpass a level of challenge they have never been through before. Breaking the barriers of impossibilities inspires superior confidence in tackling difficult situations.
The final level of progression – trainees will have the building blocks necessary to participate in a triathlon or (optional) Muay Thai fight.
Training takes places every weekday morning for 2.5 hours.

Massage is extremely beneficial for both addiction recovery and muscle recovery from intensive sport training. Thai massage is especially good for releasing muscle tension and stress, increasing flexibility and range of motion and improving circulation. It helps with insomnia, restlessness and energy levels, and helps to center the mind.
Clients receive massage 2 hours per week.
